Working With Stakeholders
AEDO brings together Singapore’s decarbonisation ecosystem across academia, industry, and government.
Working Across Research Ecosystem and Engaging With Private Sector
AEDO actively engages stakeholders across Singapore’s decarbonisation ecosystem: researchers in relevant fields from Singapore’s Autonomous Universities and Research Institutes, as well as the private sector to understand and bridge the gap between research and deployment for technologies.
Working Across Government
AEDO works closely across the government to ensure that RD&D efforts are aligned with national needs:

Policy Direction
Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry (METI) sets the overarching policy direction for industry and power decarbonisation, and the future grid, which in turn guides our R&D and innovation focus.
Sector Leads
Sector Leads ensure the focus areas are closely aligned with the long-term plans and needs of their respective sectors:
Economic Development Board (EDB) - industry sector, comprising the focus areas of carbon capture and carbon utilisation.
Energy Market Authority (EMA) - power sector, comprising the focus areas of hydrogen, solar, power system enablers, geothermal, and other low-carbon alternatives.
Parent Funding Agency
As the parent funding agency, National Research Foundation (NRF) provides the funding for DGC and all grants awarded follow NRF’s guidelines.
Strategic Oversight
The DGC Steering Committee is chaired by a Deputy Secretary from the Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry (METI) and comprises senior officials from relevant government agencies, including EDB, EMA, NRF, and the National Climate Change Secretariat (NCCS).
AEDO is a national platform housed within the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). As a national platform, AEDO serves a national mandate, resourcing RD&D across the academic ecosystem and industry, to advance Singapore’s power and industry decarbonisation priorities.
Technical Oversight
AEDO is supported by the DGC Technical Committee, which provides technical expertise and advice. It comprises international experts from industry and academia, who bring with them extensive experience in the key focus areas of the DGC.
